Cruise 2017 Adventure

Aquarium
Moving north once more we spent some time in the Exuma Cays land and Sea Park which as you know is a favorite. The Aquarium was as amazing as ever - I like this picture for you can see the bottom of Traceys Bathyscope at the front of the dinghy.

Cave
We managed to get the dinghy into some caves which was really good fun and they were stunning - I must go on a photography course for I just couldn't catch the depth of colour that they had to offer.

laundry
If you are wondering this is how the laundry is normally done. Tracey would make a great wine stomper. Perhaps we should start a vineyard once we hang up our sailing boots.

Clear as air
From Black Point we made our way south to Little Farmers Cay where we had a meal in the Yacht Club which was built and is run by Roosevelt Nixon with a lovely booming voice to match his character. The water around Little Famers Cay is the clearest we have ever seen. The water in this picture is three meters deep - perfect for keeping an eye on the anchor.

Stingray
Just lovely to watch them as they effortlessly glide about

Coconut Bread
This lovely lady is Lorraines Mum and as you can see she is busy in her kitchen churning out her famous Coconut Bread. It tastes stunning and for those who anchor in Black Point an absolute must. Black Point is a lovely anchorage and community which seems more entrepreneurial than most places. We love the launderette which is not only the best we have seen in the Bahamas but you can buy anything from engine oil to wrapping paper, have your hair cut, a coffee and bun or use the loo. Its priceless and so so friendly. I just wanted to get my tools out and raise Lorraines Mums floor to save her standing on that can

BASHER BOW
I just had to add this picture for those who like a bow with sleek lines capable of cutting through waves like butter. This picture is as it is in the flesh - there's distortion. What were they thinking, should be called cocktail shaker for it must slam like nothing else.

half a glass....
I'm sorry I haven't updated the blog for a while but for some reason mobile coverage where we were crashed and so we were cut off from the world. This included weather forecast information which made us feel a bit vulnerable at times for we knew there was a front on the way and rumour had it that it would be a bad one. It also made for a stressful day for I had to get my Yachting Monthly column out to meet their printing deadline. We moved anchorage, pulled the mobile up the mast, tried every trick under the sun to no avail. Fortunately, we were bailed out by Steve and Katherine Jones off Gemini Sunset who, amazingly, I had sat next to at a dinner many years ago up north!
For all that we have been having a great time and our glass is definitely half full as you can see from this picture of the good ship 'Pearl of Penzance' which was taken by Michelle on Mahina.
