Engine

 I've had my first response to the blog from Peter Williams who asked what engine we have chosen. As you can see from the picture, thanks to their signature red colour its a Beta. This could be construed as being on the large size for a 32ft boat but we will need some grunt to push up against some of the big European rivers such as the Rhine. That said we have an 18inch Bruntons Autoprop which finds the best pitch for any given rev which saves fuel and means we can back off the engine for much of its use. From the picture you can also see that we have been able to mount it right in the bottom of the boat to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible.
